As part of an ongoing upgrade to its gas network SGN is about to invest £41,000 along the Kingsway (A725) in East Kilbride.
This essential work involves the replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
Following discussions with South Lanarkshire Council and Scotland Transerv, the second phase of the SGN project will start on Tuesday 17 July and last for approximately four weeks.
Work will take place on a section of Kingsway (A725) north of Whitemoss Roundabout and will be progressing along the A725 towards the Whirlies Roundabout.
To ensure the safety of engineers and road users, the carriageway will be reduced to one lane in both directions, seven days a week from 8am to 4pm. And being mindful of the people who live in the area noisy activities will be minimalised where possible.
Regular updates will be posted on www.sgn.co.uk along with social media and traffic bulletins to keep commuters informed.
