Non-emergency repairs update
Published Monday 23rd January 2012
As a result of damages caused by the recent storms we still have around 3000 emergency repairs to attend to.
Unfortunately this means non-emergency repairs are still suspended while we help those people who are in emergency situations.
The council's Housing Repairs Service tradespersons have been working around the clock in order to make properties wind and watertight and work is now underway to prioritise and repair the damage caused. Sub-contractors have also been brought in to help us get through the work as quickly as possible.
All tenants whose property has been affected by the storms will shortly be contacted to further update them on the progress being made.
In the meantime, in order to prioritise our work to deal with those properties most in need, tenants are asked not to contact our repairs centre regarding outstanding repair works unless there is a further deterioration which is causing their property not to be wind and watertight.
It is currently anticipated, at the current rate of progress, that we will be able to resume taking calls for non-emergency repairs from Monday 30 January 2012.
