A new service has been launched that notifies all relevant government departments when a birth or death is registered.

The 'Tell Us Once' service means one of the council's registrars can now help a new parent or recently bereaved person through a step-by-step process that will automatically notify central and local governments of their change in circumstances.

Working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the new service provides a much easier way for bereaved families and new parents to report their change in circumstances as they do not have to contact government bodies as many times as was necessary before.
