Photography winners revealed

The winning entries of the annual photographic competition are now on show at Chatelherault Lodge and Country Park.
Now in its seventh successful year, the competition is open to all residents and visitors to South Lanarkshire with entries in this year's competition coming in from all around the country even as far away as Yorkshire.
The competition has junior and adult sections with six entry categories within each section and all images entered into the Competition must have been taken in South Lanarkshire within the last five years.
First Place in the adult section and Overall Competition Winner, with her entry, 'Winter Wonderland', was Cindy Lou Ramsay from East Kilbride. Cindy Lou's entry was in Category 2 of the competition - Scenes: Towns & Villages. Along with her award certificate, Cindy Lou was also presented with an engraved glass plaque.
First Place in the junior section and Overall Junior Winner, with his entry, 'Portal', was Paul Meikle from Rutherglen. Paul's entry was in Category 3 of the competition - Scenes Rural Landscapes. Paul was also presented with an award certificate and an engraved glass plaque.
Councillor Hamish Stewart, acting chair of South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture and the council's Community Resources Committee, who presented the awards at a special preview evening, said: "The photographic competition has gone from strength to strength over the years and I am delighted to see so many entries this year from locals and visitors alike and from so far a-field too.
"It was very difficult indeed to choose winners from such an excellent array of entries. Congratulations to the winners and I would urge visitors to come along and see the full exhibition of all this year's entries. Thanks must go to all who have helped make this such a successful and growing annual event."
The 2011/12 Photographic Exhibition is now open to the public in the Cadzow Gallery, Chatelherault Country Park, Ferniegair, by Hamilton during Visitor Centre opening hours until Sunday 25 March 2012.

The Adult entry fee is £5 per person per category - entry to the Junior section is free.
Entry categories included - People at Work/Traditional Skills, Scenes: Towns/Villages, Scenes: Rural/Landscape, A Great Day Out/Active Sports/Pastimes, Wildlife: Wild Animals, Wildlife: Wild Flowers/Plants.
