There's still time to sign up for this year's one day coaching conference this weekend.

The event at Calderglen High School's Community Sport Hub on Sunday 4 November is the 3rd annual Coach in Action conference which this year is themed the 'Next Generation'.

It aims to attract new or young coaches to coaching and provide opportunities for them to get involved with local clubs and sports development and active schools programmes across Lanarkshire.

Expert tutors and coaches from across Scotland and the rest of the UK will be taking practical sessions tailored to meet the needs of the coaches attending. You can watch our Coach in Action film on YouTube to give you a taster of what the conference is all about.

The 'Next Generation' encapsulates the priorities for coaching and looks at new ways of planning opportunities across the whole of Lanarkshire to support, not just existing coaches, but also new coaches who want to gain insight into their particular sport or area of interest.

Setting the theme at this year’s conference will be keynote speaker Hazel Williamson, Scotland Development Manager for the Youth Sport Trust. The Youth Sport Trust is a UK wide independent charity devoted to changing young people’s lives through sport.

For more information on the workshops and other general information please go to the Coaching Conference  page on the South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture website where you can also download the Coach in Action 'Next Generation' booklet.
