We know that money is tight right now, particularly with the cost-of-living crisis.

It is affecting most things that we have to budget for including; rent, energy costs, food, and fuel.

Having a safe and secure home for you and your family, is particularly important during these difficult times so it is important that you continue to pay your rent.

Our housing officers are here to help if you are experiencing financial difficulties or are worried about paying your rent. We can help to work out an affordable rent repayment arrangement and put you in contact with other agencies who can provide specialist welfare benefits and financial advice and support, such as Money Matters Advice Service, the Rent Income Support Team, Energy Advice Scotland and the DWP.

We have already helped many tenants who were in rent arrears and struggling financially, to get back on track.

One tenant we recently helped said: “The Housing staff have been great, I didn’t know where to turn and in the end it was as simple as answering my phone and talking to my housing officer who helped me sort everything out. I can sleep at night again and not worry about losing my home.”

Another tenant added: “Thanks, since speaking to you I now know that things are moving. I can’t thank you enough and know that I should be back on track soon. I can already feel my confidence coming back’.

If you’re worried about paying your rent and need some help, contact your local housing office to find out how we can support you, as the earlier you contact us for help and advice, the better.
