Together for a better Internet

As always, Safer Internet Day aims to create both a safer and a better internet, where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. By celebrating the positive power of the internet, Safer Internet Day 2023 will be celebrated on 7th February with the theme of ‘Want to talk about it? Making Space for conversations about life online’.

We are celebrating by putting children and young people’s voices at the heart of the day and encouraging them to shape the online safety support they receive.

We are asking parent, carers, teacher, government, policy makers and the wider online safety industry to take time to listen to children and young people and make positive change together.

From cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity, each year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns.

Whether you are a child, young person, parent/carer, family, professional or business we ALL have a part to play in working together for a better and safer internet.

South Lanarkshire Child Protection Committee and CSE and Online Safety Task Group have published leaflets on Cyberbullying and Online Safety to offer advice and guidance to both children young people and their parents/carers.
