Restart of Wedding Ceremonies at Chatelherault Country Park

Restart of Wedding Ceremonies at Chatelherault Country Park

Following the announcement by the First Minister on July 10, from July 15 onwards further relaxations of the lockdown rules on marriage and civil partnership were permitted:

  • The maximum number of people allowed to attend a marriage or civil partnership will be 20, with physical distancing in place. This figure applies to both outdoor and indoor ceremonies, where venue capacity allows the ceremony to take place safely.
  • This figure sets marriage and civil partnership on a different footing from wider gatherings (where household and number restrictions remain); the maximum attendance of 20 people does not include any limitation on numbers of households
  • The maximum figure encompasses all those at the ceremony, including the registrar or celebrant, any interpreter, children, carers supporting any attendee, photographers, musicians or any other person employed by the couple

Outdoor wedding ceremonies were reinstated recently at Chatelherault Country Park, with restrictions on number of guests. Now we also are able to have wedding ceremonies indoors within the Banqueting Room; a maximum capacity of 20 people are permitted which includes the bride, groom, witnesses and registrar or celebrant. Couples may also have their wedding photography taken within The West Wing or outdoors in the enclosed Parterre Gardens and surroundings.

We are currently the only SLLC Venue able to offer this to couples wishing to get married. To make a booking, or for further information, please contact us by email or call 01698 543412.

At this time we are not able to offer reception or catering, but will update this information as the situation changes.
