Support for groups offering a Warm Welcome
South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) are looking to work with local communities and voluntary groups and organisations to take forward a “Warm Welcome” initiative.
This will be a network of warm spaces in community settings and public buildings where members of the public are welcomed and can participate in activities and groups and access advice and support.
To support you, we have created a small grants scheme offering up to £1,000 specifically for extra costs you might incur by offering a Warm Welcome.
There are also other funds you can apply to for work around the cost of living. Some of these are council funds and some are from other funders. Details are available here:
If you would like to know more about the different services available to help individuals who are struggling, there is information available on our Warm Welcome and other costs of living support and Money is not the only problem pages.
You can find venues near you by using our handy postcode checker. It will take you to an interactive map and a list of Warm Welcome locations, with details of what is on offer there, plus contact details for more information.
If you would like your venue to be added to the Warm Welcome map or for more information about how your group can be involved or get support for your activities, please email us at communities@southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
