Aims and Objectives
The aim of the proposal is to reduce the budget available for Community Safety projects and initiatives in support of the
Resources' savings targets while minimising the impact upon community safety.
It is proposed to reduce the Community Safety budget by £0.060m. The saving will be achieved through consideration of the way services are commissioned and delivered.
Conclusion
It is felt that the saving can be progressed without having a significant adverse impact upon any specific group of individuals or community safety more generally in South Lanarkshire. The impact of the reduction in budget will be monitored by Community Safety partners who will also continue to consider the availability of alternative funding / resourcing opportunities.
