Repossession and bankruptcy
If your property has been repossessed by your mortgage lender, or the ownership has passed to a trustee in bankruptcy, you may be entitled to a 100% Council Tax exemption.
For bankruptcy cases, all of the following must apply:
- the property is empty
- it is owned by the person who is bankrupt
- it is not anyone’s main home
- a permanent trustee has an interest in the property
- no one else is liable for Council Tax
