Industrial action in schools and nurseries (26-28 September 2023)

Following trade union rejection of the latest COSLA pay offer made on Thursday 21 September, industrial action in schools will take place from today, Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 September.

ALL South Lanarkshire primary and secondary schools, including ASNs and school-based nurseries, are CLOSED to pupils on those three days. Schools have made arrangements for pupils to continue studies from home.

Standalone nurseries

Some standalone nurseries will remain OPEN, only for children who have an existing place and on the days they normally attend.

Halfmerke Community Nursery (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Hollandbush (food will be provided by centre)
Kilbryde (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Larkhall Childrens Centre – Claude Street and Muir Street (food will be provided by centre)
Lightburn (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Millburn (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Rooftop (food will be provided by centre)
Springlaw (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Westburn (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)
Woodlands Nursery Centre (packed lunch should be provided by parents/carers)

Please note that Ballerup Nursery, Kirkstyle, Skylark, Woodhill, Jackton, St Mary’s (Lanark), St Paul's and Rigside Rural Community nurseries will all be closed.
