Local Development Strategy

Lanarkshire LEADER Local Development Strategy (LDS) is a community-led strategy focusing on the local priorities of Lanarkshire rural communities. It is a result of detailed analysis and consultation resulting in identification of strategic themes, priority actions and objectives. These will guide funding decisions made under the 2014-2020 Programme.

Previously, LEADER has helped to build capacity in local rural communities and has been an important leverage to significant levels of funding to support rural regeneration. The aim of Lanarkshire LEADER is to build on this success and encourage improvements in the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of our local communities.

The final evaluation of LEADER 2007-2013 was completed and this helped shape the new Lanarkshire LEADER 2014-2020 LDS.
