The best way you can support your child's work is to encourage them in what they are doing by showing that you value school and think it is worthwhile.

Make sure your child goes to school regularly and talk to them about what they are doing in school. Encourage them with their home work and taking part in out-of-school activities.

You can also help by sharing in your child's successes. Tell them that you are proud of whatever they have achieved and attend any award ceremonies they may be involved in. Listen to them and talk about school and any problems they have. Parents can and do make a big difference to how well their child can learn.
