Extended hours festive policy 2022-2023

Over the festive period the Divisional Licensing Boards have decided to make a determination under Section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 to the effect that the festive policy will apply to on-sale premises from Thursday, 1 December 2022 to Monday, 2 January 2023. There is no need for premises to apply for extended hours during that period as long as the premises adhere to those hours.  There is no obligation for any premises to trade during the extended hours approved.

Licensing Division 1 – Clydesdale area

  • Saturdays – 1 am
  • 31 December – 4 am      

Licensing Division 2 – East Kilbride area

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 1am
  • Former registered clubs - 2am
  • Late opening premises (premises where the terminal hour is usually later than 1am) - 1 extra hour

Christmas Eve

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 2am
  • Former registered clubs - 3am
  • Late opening premises (premises where the terminal hour is usually later than 1am) - 4am

Hogmanay

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises – 4am
  • Former registered clubs - 4am
  • Late opening premises (premises where the terminal hour is usually later than 1 am) - 4am

Licensing Division 3 – Hamilton area

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 1am
  • Former registered clubs - 2am
  • Late opening premises (premises where the terminal hour is usually later than 1am)  - 1  extra hour

Christmas Eve and Hogmanay

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 2am
  • Former registered clubs - 3am
  • Late opening premises (premises where the terminal hour is usually later than 1am) - 4am

Licensing Division 4 – Rutherglen and Cambuslang area

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 1am
  • Former registered clubs - 2am

Christmas Eve

  • 1 extra hour for bona fide night club premises – 2am

Hogmanay

  • Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on the premises - 2am
  • Former registered clubs - 3am
  • Bona fide night club premises – 3am
