Older carers of adults with a learning disability
All our information pages in respect of Carers and caring are undergoing a refresh to capture the new rights carers can benefit from through the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.
Carers look after family, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability. The care they provide is unpaid.
If you need help to care for a relative or a friend request a carers assessment online or contact your local social work office.
We can also provide information about short breaks for carers.
Our report Time to Think About highlights many of the issues raised by older carers of adults with a learning disability which are now being used to influence practice and policy in South Lanarkshire. You can also download a copy of the Time to Think About Executive Summary.
