Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice

Day care

Updated 6 August 2021

Further to our update in June about Day Services for adults and older people, we are continuing to progress recovery of these services. We are currently delivering a blend of building-based services each week and an Outreach Service to meet people’s needs to ensure safe systems of work for service users and staff. We acknowledge that people are not receiving the same level of service that they had before Covid-19, but we are ensuring that everyone who attended Day Services is being kept safe and this is our priority.

While changes to freedoms beyond Level 0 will bring us closer to a normal life, within a Health and Social Care environment we will be continuing to practise carefully and in line with Public Health and Infection Prevention and Control measures. Many people who use day services are physically vulnerable or have immune-compromised conditions and we will continue to exercise caution for the time being by limiting the numbers of people who use our day service buildings. Local Day Service hubs and social work offices will continue to work with individuals and their families to find alternative solutions to meet people’s assessed outcomes.
