The food and drink sector is a key growth sector in our local economy. Together with our partners we support existing food and drink businesses in our area as well as those who wish to start up in this sector. We provide advisory and financial support and work closely with many partner organisations outlined below to ensure that your business is given the best opportunity to prosper.

Key activities include raising awareness of South Lanarkshire producers and products through events, workshops and directories. Lanarkshire Larder
Lanarkshire Larder is a Regional Food Group that includes food and drink producers, restaurants, cafés, pubs, hotels, farm shops - all share a passion about the provenance and quality of the products they make or sell.

The aim of the group is to increase awareness of the diverse range of quality food and drink from Lanarkshire. It aims to put independent businesses on the Scotland regional food map, establish a link between them and encourage the use of fresh, locally sourced produce. It strives for Lanarkshire to be known as a centre of excellence for food and drink.

Scotland Food and Drink
National organisation which aims to guide food and drink businesses of all sizes towards increased profitability. Key activities range from one to one advice through to workshops, events and marketing insights.

Business Gateway Lanarkshire offers free and independent advice to all new and existing businesses in Lanarkshire as well as those just thinking about starting a business. Supplier Development Programme (SDP)
The public sector is one of the largest buyers of food and drink produce in Scotland and SDP helps connect you to the right people and the right tendering opportunities for your business. It provides free advice and training to guide you through the public sector tendering process and ensures you are registered in the right places to secure new work.
