Interested in becoming a member of a local licensing forum?
Local Licensing Forums help to shape the policies that affect licensing decisions locally.
There are four forums in South Lanarkshire - Clydesdale, East Kilbride, Hamilton and Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
The forums act as a voice for public opinion about alcohol issues in general rather than a way in which people can complain about individual premises.
The forums typically look at:
- What is happening in the area in relation to alcohol and licensed premises
- What is the effect of the Board’s decisions in the area
- Does more need to be done, and if so, how does this impact on the Licensing Policy
The forums gather evidence from a range of sources to support its views.
You are welcome to apply if you have an interest in licensing and wish to act in the best interest of local communities.
The Forum should consist of a cross section of interested individuals including police, educational, social and heath workers, young people, licensed trade representatives and members of the public.
The Licensing Forums meet at least four times per year.
If you are interested in becoming a member of one of our forums or would like more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01698 455916.
