Police Scotland have launched a public information campaign on child sexual abuse today, Tuesday 27 March 2018.
The Campaign is entitled '#notmyfriend' and will target perpetrators of online child sexual abuse and signpost them to relevant support pathways in order to prevent offending.
Online child sexual abuse is a national threat and Police Scotland's commitment to tackling online child sexual abuse continues to be one of their highest priorities.
The campaign uses a visual creative to address perpetrators directly, presenting a positive image of children and young people as empowered and in control of their decisions. This campaign alerts perpetrators of the personal risk they are taking through their offending behaviour and signposts them to 3rd sector engagement and support. In addition it encourages the public, children and young people to have the confidence to report suspicious or abusive online behaviour.
