Resident parking zone permits

Parking zone permit application and renewals

If you live in a residents parking zone, you need a permit to park on the street where restrictions apply. We run parking zones in parts of East Kilbride, The Village in East Kilbride, Hamilton, Carluke, Cambuslang, Uddingston and Rutherglen.

A permit lets you park in your zone during the restricted times. It does not guarantee a space. Each zone has its own rules and times, which you can check when you apply.

Who can apply

We only issue permits to vehicles registered to an address inside the parking zone. Your address decides how many permits you can apply for.

How to apply

You can apply online using our online parking permit portal. You need to create a residents account and upload proof of your address and your vehicle registration.

Costs

  • The first residents permit is free
  • Replacing a lost or stolen permit costs £10

When you will get your permit

If you are eligible, we post permits within five working days. If you apply during a renewal period, we send your new permit about one week before the current one expires.

Renewing your permit

Permits last for two years. You can renew them on you online account up to 30 days before the expiry date.
