Accessibility information for the weekly lists
This accessibility statement applies to the Planning weekly list and Building warrant weekly list published by South Lanarkshire Council using Microsoft Power BI.
We want these reports to be accessible to as many people as possible. We have addressed accessibility issues where Power BI allows us to make changes. However, some accessibility limitations remain because of how Power BI generates report content and underlying code.
Accessibility of these reports
These reports are partially compliant with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 due to the limitations described below.
Known accessibility issues
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations within the Power BI reports:
- Power BI does not currently allow standard report titles or text boxes to be assigned accessible heading levels such as H1. Accessibility checking tools may therefore identify a missing first-level heading within the report
- some report titles update automatically to reflect the relevant reporting period. For example, the dates shown in a weekly list title change each week
- Power BI automatically generates some title and tooltip information. This cannot always be edited independently from the visible content, which may result in accessibility tools identifying duplicate or redundant text
- some links within reports may point to the same destination and may be flagged by accessibility tools as repeated links
Where possible, we provide appropriate page headings and accessible content outside the embedded report.
Accessibility features in Power BI
Microsoft Power BI includes a range of accessibility features, including:
- keyboard navigation
- screen reader support
- high contrast display options
- alternative text for report visuals

Technical information about accessibility
We are committed to making our websites and online services accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
The weekly lists are published using Microsoft Power BI, a third-party reporting platform. While we can control the content and design of the reports, some aspects of the Power BI interface and the code generated by the platform cannot be changed by the council.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We will continue to review the accessibility of these reports and make improvements where possible.
Where accessibility issues are caused by Power BI functionality that cannot currently be changed, we will monitor future Power BI updates and implement improvements if they become available.
How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared in September 2026 following accessibility testing of the Planning weekly list and Building warrant weekly list using the WAVE accessibility evaluation tool.
Issues that could be addressed within the reports were corrected. The reports and this statement will continue to be reviewed and updated as necessary.
