Funding for local climate projects
The Clyde Wind Farm South Lanarkshire Net Zero Community Grant Fund helps communities in South Lanarkshire take action to tackle climate change.
£450,000 is available over three years to support projects which reduce emissions and support local climate action. The Fund forms part of the Clyde wind farm development fund.
Who can apply
You can apply if your organisation:
- is not for profit
- is a constituted community group
- has its own bank account and governing document
- works in, or mainly benefits, South Lanarkshire residents
What the fund can support
The fund is for capital projects only. Your project should deliver at least one of the following outcomes:
- reduce carbon emissions
- increase renewable energy generation
- help your community adapt to climate impacts
- encourage local involvement in climate action

Grant options
- Medium‑sized grants: £5,000 - £20,000
- up to 100% of eligible project costs
- no match funding required
- Large applications: Over £20,000
- considered on merit, impact and value for money
- maximum award of 70% of total project cost
- match funding required

How to apply
You can apply for Net Zero Community Grants through our online system:
- applications can be submitted via the Grantvisor community grants portal
- all applications will undergo an initial eligibility check to ensure alignment with fund priorities
- if your enquiry meets the fund criteria, the full application form will unlock on Grantvisor
- applications will be assessed by a panel including representatives from South Lanarkshire Council, the Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub and VASLan.
