To facilitate arrangements for all elections in line with Council guidelines and statutory procedures including:-
? the conduct of the poll and count
? review of polling districts/polling places
? review of boundaries
? promoting democracy
Conclusion
An initial equality impact assessment has identified the need to undertake wider consultation, improve access arrangements, review future publicity/awareness raising campaigns, review working practices/methods, expand existing resources available for hard to reach groups, to enable a full assessment to be completed. An action plan has been developed to do this and a full assessment will be carried out within 12 months.
