Aims and Objectives
Currently South Lanarkshire Council provides a footwear and clothing grant for pupils attending South Lanarkshire schools where parents/carers qualify for certain benefits/tax credits. This grant is now outdated given the developments in the benefits system over recent years. The proposal is to review the criteria for the grant in order to reduce the cost to the Council.
Conclusion
The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations.
