Aims and Objectives
The local authority has a statutory duty to provide a repairs service to maintain its housing stock and related assets to an acceptable standard. The Housing Repairs Policy set outs the local authorities approach to meeting this statutory duty including how it deals with repairs to council housing stock and related assets.

The aim of the policy is to provide customers with a high quality, efficient and comprehensive housing repairs service and a number of objectives and actions are listed within the policy to achieve this aim.
Conclusion
The Housing Repairs Policy aims to ensure that customers are provided with a high quality, efficient and comprehensive housing repairs service. It aligns closely with other key strategies and policies including the Local Housing Strategy, Housing Allocations Policy and local letting plans. It is anticipated to have a positive impact on the lives of all customers, regardless of their characteristics, by ensuring that reported and identified problems within properties are quickly resolved to an acceptable standard.
