Consultation summary and background
The school holidays consultation is being carried out in order to the views of our communities, including parents, pupils, and staff, on proposed school holiday dates and in-service days for session 2026/27.
Why are we consulting?
Consultations ensure that the views of the community are considered when setting school holiday dates. This helps to align holidays across schools and accommodate local holidays and events
Who are we consulting
Children, Citizen's Panel, Community groups/organisations, Ethnic minorities, Faith groups, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, General public (including residents of an area), Head teachers, Men, Parents, Carers, Guardians, People with disabilities, Service users, Staff/employees, Stakeholders, Volunteering groups/organisations, Women and Young people
How will findings be used?
The feedback collected during the consultation will be reviewed and presented to the Education Resources committee who will make a final decision on the school holiday dates for session 2026/27.
