On the 11 August 2026, South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order, thereby introducing waiting and loading restrictions on Ashton Road, Rutherglen.
The Order which comes into operation on the 28 September 2026, was advertised in the Rutherglen Reformer in the week beginning the 2 March 2026. The effect of the order is as previously stated.
A copy of the Order and a map relative thereto are available for inspection on the council’s website.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by the 22 September 2026, apply to the Court of Session for this purpose. - Name of road(s)

- Reason
- It is considered necessary to make the above Order to improve road safety and the amenity of the area. Indiscriminate parking on Ashton Road is reducing the carriageway width, which is creating problems with the flow of vehicular traffic and causing difficulty for large commercial vehicles negotiating the curvature of the bend.
