On the 17 August 2026, South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order, thereby introducing waiting restrictions at the junction of Green Street and Kirk Street, both Stonehouse.
The Order which comes into operation on the 5 October 2026, was advertised in the Hamilton Advertiser in the week beginning the 20 April 2026. The effect of the order is as previously stated.
A copy of the Order and a map relative thereto are available for inspection on the council’s website.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by the 28 September 2026, apply to the Court of Session for this purpose. - Name of road(s)

- It is considered necessary to make the above Order to improve road safety and the amenity of the area. Indiscriminate parking at the junction of Green Street and Kirk Street reduces the carriageway width causing concerns with vehicular movement which is detrimental to road safety. Refuse collection vehicles have reported issues accessing the area.
