| Description | Eastfield civic amenity/recycling site is a modern facility is situated off the main Rutherglen to Cambuslang Road and is operated by Biffa on behalf of the Council. Bays are provided for the disposal of general waste, construction waste, cardboard, green waste and scrap metal. Banks for the disposal of car batteries and used engine oil are provided as are facilities for recycling glass bottles and jars, food and drinks cans, paper and textiles. The site now also accepts waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) including fridges, freezers, fluorescent light bulbs, televisions and monitors for recycling purposes. Fridges/freezer MUST be emptied of all food and defrosted Liquid paint cannot be disposed of at this site unless the left over paint is solidified by either adding a paint hardener or sand/soil. Gas bottles and canisters used for camping and barbeques, together with household fire extinguishers can be recycled at this site. Commercial, acetylene, industrial size cylinders and large CO2 cylinders will NOT be accepted. The site is attended and assistance is normally available on request. | Cardboard skips | Fencing will be installed around the cardboard skip at this site. This fencing will have letter box type openings that will allow only flat packed cardboard to be posted through into the skip. Please empty cardboard boxes and flat pack them before coming to the site. |
| Vans or cars with trailers | - we now accept household waste in cars and vans up to 3.5t in weight and vehicles with trailers less than 2.4m long x 1.2m wide. - no tipper vehicles are allowed. |
| Health and safety | There is no pedestrian access to this recycling centre and children/pets should remain in vehicles at all times. Smoking is not permitted on site. |

| Waste from charities | Charities remain able to dispose of recyclable waste including metal, wood, cardboard and textiles (in the textile banks provided). Domestic waste and bulky items from charities is not currently accepted at our sites. |
