| Consultation summary and background | Participatory Budgeting gives local residents a direct role in local decision making. Participatory Budgeting is an approach which has been implemented across all ten Neighbourhood Planning Areas in South Lanarkshire, giving communities an opportunity to influence how money in spent in their local area. The process is shaped and led by local people following the Scottish Participatory Budgeting Charter: Fair and Inclusive, Participatory, Deliberative, Empowering, Creative and Flexible, Transparent, and Part of our democracy. To ensure that Participatory Budgeting processes are continually improved, we are looking for feedback, insight and experience from local people who are living in neighbourhood planning areas to inform future processes. |
