The council’s Housing Allocation Policy has been developed in accordance with the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987, as amended. The policy sets out how housing applications are prioritised and vacant council housing in South Lanarkshire is allocated.
The views expressed during the consultation will be taken into account in finalising the revised Housing Allocation Policy, which will be presented to Housing and Technical Resources Committee in September 2026 for approval.
