Support for tourism businesses
Tourism is an important part of South Lanarkshire’s economy. If you run a tourism business or are thinking about starting one, we can help you grow, promote your offer and attract more visitors. We work closely with partners including North Lanarkshire Council, VisitScotland and Business Gateway, to make sure you can access the right support.
You can contact our tourism officer for advice or to discuss your business by emailing business.support@southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
You can also read the South Lanarkshire Tourism Strategy to find out more about our plans for the sector.
VisitLanarkshire
VisitLanarkshire is the main consumer brand for tourism across Lanarkshire and is managed by South Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Council. It promotes the region and helps visitors discover local attractions, accommodation, events and activities.
If you run a business that primarily focuses on tourism, you can be listed on the VisitLanarkshire website for free. This includes bed and breakfasts, hotels, attractions, outdoor providers and event organisers. To add your business, contact our tourism officer via the email address above.
VisitScotland
VisitScotland is Scotland’s national tourism organisation. They work closely with businesses, public agencies and stakeholders to maximise the benefits of tourism to Scotland’s economy, and that includes helping to support and promote your business. They provide products and services and run events that can help you reach your target markets more efficiently, and they can provide vital resources to assist you in developing your business.
From developing your digital channels to improving customer experience, find everything you need to improve and grow your tourism business by visiting the VisitScotland Business Support Hub.
