Find cycling maps and apps

You can use your smartphone to plan and follow cycling routes while you are out and about. A range of free and paid apps can help you find routes, track your journey, and explore new areas across South Lanarkshire and beyond.

Cycling apps to try

These apps offer digital maps and route planning tools to help you cycle safely and confidently:

  • Cyclestreets – helps you plan quieter, more direct cycling routes and explore local journeys
  • Sustrans iPhone app – provides access to the National Cycle Network and suggested routes across the UK

You can download these apps from your phone’s app store and start using them straight away.

Things to keep in mind

There are many cycling apps available. We have listed a few popular options, but this is not a complete list and we do not recommend one over another. You may find other apps that suit your needs better.

Using a cycling app can help you:

  • plan your route before you leave
