Community asset transfer
Step by step application process
Step 1: Talk to us
Email our community asset transfer officer to discuss the property and your idea.
Step 2: Early checks
We check whether the property is available and suitable for transfer.
Step 3: Build your proposal
You will need to:
- talk to local residents
- explain the community benefits
- show that you can afford to run and maintain the asset
Step 4: Submit a full application
You submit your proposal, including your offer to lease or buy.
Step 5: Consultation and decision
Local people can comment. We then assess the application and aim to make a decision within six months of validation.
