Renewable Energy Fund Grants
Renewable Energy Fund value available by community
You can use the Renewable Energy Fund (REF) or Clyde Wind Farm Fund to support local projects if your community sits within an eligible wind farm area. The list below shows an estimate of how much funding may be available for different villages. These amounts change often, depending on new income from wind farms and grants already awarded.
If your community is not listed, or you’re unsure which fund applies to you, you can contact the Funding and Development Team.
How funding works
Wind farm funding is based on geographic boundaries set by each wind farm operator. This means the money is not allocated to individual villages. Instead, neighbouring communities often share access to the same fund.
For example, if Abington and Crawford sit within the same wind farm boundary, both communities can apply to the same pot of funding. Clyde Wind Farm funding is shared equally across all eligible communities.
To check which fund covers your area, you can view the Renewable Energy Fund wind farms and maps.
Estimated funding available
The list shows the approximate value of REF and Clyde Wind Farm funding available to each community as of August 2024. This is a guide only, as balances change throughout the year.
