Problems paying Council Tax

Paying Council Tax is not a matter of choice, however we understand that there may be times that you will have difficulty paying on time.

You should also see if you are entitled to Council Tax Reduction.

Our Money Matters service can give you independent and confidential advice if you are facing debt problems.

You can now check your Council Tax balance online using myaccount. All you need is your Council Tax account number and an email address to get started. If you don't know your Council Tax account number, you can complete our Council Tax - account number request form.  

Registering for myaccount will allow you to check your Council Tax online.  Once registered you can view

• your balance
• your payments
• any adjustments applied to your account (for example a discount, exemption or Council Tax reduction)
• your most recent Council Tax bill
