Cooling towers and evaporative condensers
If your workplace has a cooling tower or evaporative condenser, the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992 requires you to register it with us. These are generally used for air conditioning or cooling industrial emissions.

How the application is dealt with
The application is so that we can put your information on a public register but it may be worth checking with Planning and Building Standards if you need planning consent or a building warrant for it to be installed.
It is in the public interest that we process your application before it can be granted so you will not get tacit consent. If you haven't heard from us within 28 days contact Environmental Services and we will let you know about your application's progress.
