Objecting to a liquor licence application

How objections and representations are dealt with

Notices of objections/representations should be lodged with the Licensing and Registration office listed at the start of the advert.

The last date for receiving objections/representations is displayed in the right hand column of the advert.

A list of current licensing applications is available.

If you are making an objection or representation it is your responsibility to make sure the Licensing Board has received it. You can email licensing@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or in writing to Licensing and Registration, Floor 11, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA

The Licensing Board is responsible for providing copies of objections and representations to applicants. It should also take any objections or representations into consideration when making a decision on any application.

On receipt of objections or representations, the Licensing Board will invite the Licence holder and the objector to attend a hearing.
