Community mental health teams

Who is the service for?

The service is available to individuals with a wide range of mental health difficulties and complex needs, who live in South Lanarkshire and are 16-65 years old.

Staffing

Community mental health teams consist of a range of NHS and local authority staff including:

• psychiatrists
• psychologists
• community psychiatric nurses
• mental health officers
• social workers
• occupational therapists
• administrative staff

About the service

Community mental health teams aim to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and care management service for individuals and their families, inclusive of treatment, care, support and information.

Accessing the service

Most people are referred to the service by their doctor. Referral to the team can also be made by a range of other health and social care professionals.
