What our community mental health teams do
Our community mental health teams support people aged 16 to 65 in South Lanarkshire who are experiencing mental health difficulties. We offer assessment, treatment and ongoing support to help you manage your mental health and improve your wellbeing.
Who the service is for
You can use this service if you:
- live in South Lanarkshire
- are between 16 and 65 years old
- need help with significant or ongoing mental health challenges
We also support families and carers who may need advice or guidance.
Who we are
Our teams include friendly and experienced staff from health and social care. This means you can get the right help from the right person, all in one place. The team includes:
- psychiatrists
- psychologists
- community psychiatric nurses
- mental health officers
- social workers
- occupational therapists
- administrative staff
We work together to understand your needs and support you in a way that suits you.
What we do
We offer a full mental health assessment and create a care plan with you. Depending on what you need, we can support you with:
- treatment and medical care
- therapy
- managing day‑to‑day challenges
- advice for families and carers
- information about other support services
Our aim is to help you stay well, feel supported and live as independently as possible.
How to access the service
Most people are referred by their doctor. Other health and social care professionals can also refer you.
If you think you need support, speak to your doctor first. They can help you decide if our service is right for you.
