Green travel plans

When an area is being developed, we consider the potential transport impact on the surrounding area.

Green travel plans set out proposals for more sustainable travel patterns for significant developments such as industry, offices, schools and hospitals.

We encourage developers and employers to prepare these plans, which may include cycle routes and paths, dedicated buses for workers, on-site showers for cyclists and runners or the development of car sharing schemes.
