Fly-posting

If you want to display a poster, advert or sign in a public place, you must get permission first. We manage many public spaces, and putting up posters without approval is not allowed.

Where you need permission

You must contact our Planning Department if you want to:

• put up posters on land or property we own or maintain
• display advertising in public spaces such as streets, parks or community areas

If you want to put up posters on private land, you must still:

• get permission from the landowner
• get approval from the Planning Department

Other options

Before you apply, you may want to consider other ways to share your message. You could use:

• local newspapers
• shop windows
• library or community notice boards

These options are often quicker and may not need formal permission.

Election posters

Different rules apply to election advertising. If your poster relates to an election, separate arrangements are in place.
