Park and play area maintenance

Park and play area maintenance

We maintain parks and play areas across South Lanarkshire so they are safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone. We look after grass, trees, play equipment and sports areas, and we check sites regularly to spot and fix issues. If you notice a problem, you can report it to us.

What we maintain

We carry out routine work to keep parks in good condition. This includes:

  • cutting grass and managing wild areas
  • maintaining shrub beds and hedges
  • looking after play areas and sports pitches
  • planting and caring for flower displays and hanging baskets
  • controlling weeds on roads, paths, grass edges and planted areas
  • maintaining bowling greens and tennis courts
  • inspecting walls, fences and bridges
  • managing trees and woodland

We also run the Care of Gardens scheme on behalf of Housing and Technical Resources. Our staff can give advice on gardening, planting and dealing with invasive weeds.

Play areas

We inspect play parks to help keep them safe for children and families. If you find damaged equipment, broken glass or anything that could cause harm, please let us know.

Before you report an issue, you can check that the play area is one we look after by viewing our list of parks and play areas.
