Home Carer jobs

Join our Care at Home service and help people live safely and independently in their own homes. As a Home Carer, you will support people with daily tasks, build their confidence and improve their quality of life. You’ll work across South Lanarkshire as part of a friendly team that includes nurses, therapists and social care staff.

What you’ll do

Depending on the role, you will:

Support recovery at home

Help people regain skills after illness or hospital stays through short-term support (up to 6 weeks).

Provide ongoing care

Support people with day‑to‑day living so they can stay independent at home.

Respond to emergencies

Answer urgent calls using home technology systems and provide help when it’s needed most.

Training and qualifications

You need a relevant qualification for SSSC registration such as SVQ2 in Health or Social Care (or equivalent).

We will support you with training and help you work towards an SVQ3 qualification.

Pay, hours and shifts

• £17.72 to £18.21 per hour, plus shift allowances
• full-time and part-time roles available
• flexible contracts (17.5, 21 or 35 hours)
• shifts include mornings, evenings and weekends
