Support for business

Tourism is identified as a key growth sector in our local economy. Together with our partners including North Lanarkshire Council, VisitScotland and Business Gateway, we support existing and start up tourism businesses in our area.

VisitLanarkshire
Consumer brand and partnership for the Lanarkshire area. The partnership delivers promotional campaigns and PR activities to raise the awareness of the Lanarkshire tourism offering. Whether you operate a tourism leisure business, bed and breakfast, hotel or run an event aimed at attracting visitors you can be listed on the Visit Lanarkshire website for free by contacting our tourism officer. 

VisitScotland
VisitScotland is Scotland’s national tourism organisation. They work closely with businesses, public agencies and stakeholders to maximise the benefits of tourism to Scotland’s economy and that includes helping to support and promote your business. They provide products and services that can help you reach your target markets more efficiently and they can provide vital resources to assist you in developing your business.

Business Gateway Lanarkshire
Free and independent advice to all new and existing businesses in Lanarkshire as well as those just thinking about starting a business. If you are looking for advice, market intelligence, support to improve your website or ecommerce booking functionality, specialist one to one support or even a sounding board, Business Gateway Lanarkshire is happy to hear from you. Financial support

There is grant funding available from us to help you expand your business. 

We offer two different types of grant funding through our Business Support Grants to new and established businesses based in the South Lanarkshire area.

• Micro Business Support Grant is available up to a maximum of £3,000 and is paid on approval
• South Lanarkshire Business Growth Grant is available up to a maximum of £20,000 and is paid retrospectively after the project is complete
