View and comment on planning applications

Viewing planning applications

You can view current planning applications, including proposals of application notices, decisions and site notices on our online public access portal.

You can also access our weekly lists here:

The public access portal lets you:

  • view plans, drawings and supporting documents
  • track the progress of an application
  • comment on an application
  • see weekly lists of new applications, decisions and site notices

Paper copies of plans are no longer held in libraries, but everything can be accessed online.

View older plans and decision notices

You can view plans and decision notices online for applications from June 2009 onwards.

If you need older documents, you can request copies online. A fee applies and must be paid when you submit the request.

Fees

  • copies of plans or decision notices not available online cost £21.63
  • further costs may apply depending on how much information you request
  • fees are non‑refundable, even if the documents are unavailable

What to expect

  • we aim to respond within 10 working days after receiving your request and payment
  • in some cases, we may not be able to copy or share documents (for example, where security concerns apply)

To request older documents, complete our online request form.
