Auchengray

C207 from Haywood to Auchengray is closed between C37 and Burnfoot from 8am Monday 29 April to 5pm Friday 10 May to install a new duct in the carriageway. Diversion via C37, A704, A706, B7016 and vice versa.

Biggar

Greenshields Road is closed between A721 and B7016 from Tuesday 21 May for up to 3 days for surface dressing works. Diversion via A721, Coldpots Road and Cocklaw Road.

Blantyre

Dalcraig Crescent is closed between Annfield Gardens and Burns Gardens from Monday 20 May to Friday 31 May to install EV chargers. Diversion via Blantyre Farm Road, Dalcraig Crescent and vice versa.

Braehead

Browshot Road is closed between C37 and Bog Road from 8am to 5pm on Friday 17 May for tree felling. Diversion via Mauldlsie Road, B7011, A73, Luggie Road, Mauldslie Road and vice versa.

Cambuslang

Beech Avenue closed between North Avenue and Myrtle Walk from 7am to 7pm daily from Thursday 9 May to Monday 13 May for BT Openreach apparatus maintenance. Diversion via Glasgow Road, Buchanan Drive, Central Avenue, Wellshot Drive and vice versa.

Lightburn Road is closed between Campsie View and 181 Lightburn Road from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday 27 May for Scottish Water works. Diversion via Hamilton Road, Hutchison Place, Lightburn Road and vice versa.

Flemington Road closed between Flemington Care Home and Dalton School Lodge from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesday 3 July for BT telegraph pole maintenance. Diversion via Hamilton Road, Glasgow Road, Bardykes Road, Hunthill Road, Main Street, Hamilton Road, Stoneymeadow Road, Flemington Road and vice versa.

Carluke

Balcastle Crescent closed between Chrichton Walk and Balcastle Crescent from 9.30am to 6pm Thursday 25 April to allow Scottish Water contractor to carry out the replacement of a manhole cover. Diversion via Balcastle Crescent, Stirling Avenue, Brodick Lane and vice versa.

Mauldslie Road is closed between Lawhill Road and Mauldslie Cottage from 8am Monday 13 May to 5pm Wednesday 15 May for manhole repairs by Openreach. Diversion via Mauldlsie Road, B7011, A73, Luggie Road, Mauldslie Road and vice versa.

Carstairs

Carstairs Road closed at Carstairs Community Centre from Wednesday 24 April to 5pm on Monday 29 April for emergency Scottish Water repairs to burst water main. Diversion via Carstairs Road, West View, A70 Lanark Road, A70 Main Street, Lampits Road, Carnwath Road, Strawfrank Road, Station Road, Carstairs Road and vice versa.

Carstairs Junction

A permanent closure Order was promoted for Clyde Bridge on C29 Pettinain Road due to its condition in September 2018. Since then the bridge has been closed to vehicles and pedestrians. Traffic is diverted via C30 Strawfrank Road, A70, Hyndford Bridge, A73, C27 and C29. A scheme to provide a replacement bridge is currently being progressed and is presently at the tender stage. Following a successful award, it is anticipated that work will be programmed to commence in early 2023 for approximately 12 months.

Carstairs station park and ride car park on Strawfrank Road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 8am on Saturday 5 May and on Saturday 18 May to allow Network Rail contractor to accommodate plant and machinery for the new footbridge installation.

Lampits Road closed at Lampits Railway Bridge from 10pm on Wednesday 8 May to 6am Thursday 9 May to allow Network Rail contractor to carry out a rail bridge inspection. Diversion via Carnwath Road, Strawfrank Road, Station Road, Carstairs Road, West View, Lanark Road, A70, Lampits Road and vice versa.

Chapelton

Shawton Road closed between Main Street and number 2 Shawton Road from Thursday 16 May to Monday 20 May for Scottish Water main renewal. Diversion via Main Street, Mounthilly Road, Shawton Road and vice versa.

Burn Highway is closed from Tuesday 28 May to Thursday 30 May for road drainage repairs. Diversion via Burn Road, Bents Road, A723 Strathaven to Hamilton road and vice versa.

Bents Road is closed between 112 Bents Road and A723 Strathaven to Hamilton Road on Friday 31 May for road drainage repairs. Diversion via Bents Road, Burn Road, Burn Highway, A723 Strathaven to Hamilton Road and vice versa.

Burn Highway is closed between Burn Road and Silverrig Farm from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 5 July for BT works. Diversion via Burn Road, Bents Road, A723 Strathaven to Hamilton road, Burn Highway and vice versa.

Cleghorn

A706 Lanark to Forth (Cleghorn Level Crossing) between Hagholm Road and Dyke Road from Saturday 25 May 2024 to 6am Monday 27 May for level crossing track replacement. Diversion via A706, A721, A70, A743, A706 and vice versa.

Crawford

Camps Road at Crawford Bridge is closed between Carlisle Road and Southwood Road from 10pm Saturday 27 April to 6am Sunday 28 April for routine bridge inspections. Diversion via Southwood Road, Station Road, Carlisle Road, A702 and Carlisle Road, Crawford and vice versa. Please note diversion route is not suitable for large vehicles.

Dolphinton

New Mill Road is closed between A702 and A72 from Tuesday 21 May for up to 3 days for surface dressing works. Diversion via A702, A721, A72 and Ogscastle Road.

East Kilbride

Laurel Drive footpath closed between the rear access to number 113 Laurel Drive and the front gable end of number 113 Laurel Drive from Sunday 21 April to Sunday 20 October.

Tivoli Court is closed between 23 Odense Court and 4 Tivoli Court from 9.30am to 3pm on Monday 29 April for street lighting works. Diversion via Tivoli Court.

Dryburgh Hill is closed between 60 and 68 Dryburgh Hill from 8am Monday 29 April to 6pm Friday 3 May for Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via Dryburgh Hill Kirktonholme Road, Blacklands Road, Falkland Drive, and Culross Hill.

Culross Hill is closed between Dryburgh Hill and 60 Culross Hill from 8am Monday 29 April to 6pm Friday 3 May for Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via Dryburgh Hill Kirktonholme Road, Blacklands Road, Falkland Drive, and Culross Hill.

Culross Hill is closed between 44 and 48 Culross Hill and Culross Place is closed between Culross Hill and 1 Culross Place from 8am Thursday 2 May to 6pm Monday 6 May for Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via Culross Hill, Dryburgh Hill, Kirktonholme Road, Blacklands Road and Falkland Drive.

Ardochrig Highway is closed between Logoch Farm and High Brownside and Caldergreen Highway from Monday 13 May to Tuesday 14 May for repairs. Diversion via Ardochrig Highway, Millwell Road, Thorn Highway, A726 to Strathaven, A723, A71 Darvel Road, High Brownside and Caldergreen Highway and vice versa.

Allendale closed between Westerdale and gable of house number 4 from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday 20 May to allow Scottish Water to repair their apparatus.

Windward Road is closed between Westport and Antigua Way from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday 27 May for Scottish Water manhole repairs. Diversion via Eaglesham Road and Westwood Road and vice versa.

Paterson Terrace is closed between Carnegie Hill and Simpson Drive from Wednesday 29 May to Saturday 2 June for Scottish Power works. Diversion via Simpson Drive.

Carnegie Hill is closed between Paterson Terrace and Stephenson Terrace from Monday 3 June to Friday 21 June for Scottish Power works. Diversion via Stephenson Terrace, Simpson Drive and Paterson Terrace.

Newlands Road is closed between James Shepherd Grove and Newlands Farm between 9.30am to 6pm on Sunday 9 June for Scottish Water repairs.

Elvanfoot

Little Clyde Road is closed between the B7076 and Little Clyde Farm from Monday 29 April until Sunday 9 June 2024, daily from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm for Scottish Water works. There is no alternative route.

Gilmourton

Waterhead Peelhill Highway between A71 and B743, Gilmourton is closed between A71 Darvel Road and C133 Waterhead Peelhill and Linbank Highway from Friday 17 May to Saturday 18 May for road drainage repairs. Diversion via A71 Darvel Road, B745 Waterhead Peelhill and Linbank Highway, C133 Waterhead Peelhill and Linbank Highway and vice versa.

Glespin

Andershaw Road is closed between the junction of the A70 and the junction of Glespin Road from Friday 27 January 2023 to Saturday 27 July 2024 for embankment subsidence investigation and repair works. Diversion via the A70, Glespin Road and vice versa.

Quarry Street will be closed between Cadzow Street and Duke Street from 5.30am to 7pm on various dates in 2024 for events:

Alexander Balfour Gardens closed between number 12 and Morris Street from 9.30am and 6pm on Thursday 25 April to replace damaged Scottish Water ironwork.

Boghead Highway closed between A723 Strathaven Road and Boghead Cottage on Tuesday 28 May for carriageway surfacing.

Townhead Street closed between Blackswell Lane and 101 Townhead Street from 7am to 8pm on Sunday 2 June for carriageway patching. Diversion via Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Quarry Street, Gateside Street, Portland Place, Low Waters Road, Strathaven Road, Hamilton Road, Commercial Road, Townhead Street, Kirk Street, A71 Stonehouse Road, A71 Strathaven Road, B7078 Carlisle Road, Machan Road, Church Street, Union Street, Hamilton Road and A72 Carlisle Road.

Caird Street closed between Caird House and Beckford Lodge on Sunday 2 June for carriageway patching. Diversion via Beckford Street, Almada Street, Bothwell Road and

Highstonehall Road closed between Tyndrum Crescent and Kennedies Farm access from Tuesday 18 June and Monday 24 June for telecoms maintenance works. Diversion via Stewart Avenue, Meikle Earnock Road, Muttonhole Road and Highstonehall Road.

Neilsland Road is closed between Laighstonehall Road and Highstonehall Road from 10pm Monday 24 June to 5am Tuesday 25 June for telecom maintenance works. Diversion via Laighstonehall Road, Mill Road, Strathaven Road, Annsfield Road, Meikle Earnock Road and Neilsland Road.

Woodfoot Road (Service Road) is closed between Highstonehall Road and 5 Woodfoot Road (Service Road) from 10pm Monday 24 June to 5am Tuesday 25 June for telecom maintenance works. Diversion via Highstonehall Road, Ewart Crescent and Woodfoot Road (Service Road).

Beckford Street is closed between Clydesdale Street and Almada Street from 12pm to 6.30pm on Saturday 27 July for the Lanarkshire Pride Parade. Diversion via Clydesdale Street, Douglas Street and Almada Street.

Hazelbank

B7086 Lanark Road closed between A72 Lanark Road and Blair Road from 8am on Wednesday 17 April for up to 7 days for Openreach duct installation works. Diversion via B7086, B7078, B7018, A72 and vice versa.

Kirkfieldbank

Kilbank Road is closed between Kirkfield Road and Teaths Road from 7am Monday 8 April and 11pm Monday 29 April for Scottish Power works. Diversion via Kilbank Road, B7018, A72 Riverside Road and Kirkfield Road.

Kirkmuirhill

Vere Road is closed between Thorton Road and Wallace Wynd from 7am to 5pm on Sunday 12 May for Scottish Water manhole repairs. Diversion via Vere Road, Carlisle Road, Thornton Road and Strathaven Road.

Knoweknack Terrace is closed between Thornton Road and 53 Knoweknack Terrace from 9.30am to 6pm on Friday 17 May for manhole replacement works by Scottish Water. Diversion via Hope Road, Scott Street, Burns Road and Thornton Road.

Lanark

Wellgate is closed between Bernards Wynd and High Street from 8am Monday 15 April for up to 21 days for SGN works. Diversion via Wellgate, Wellgatehead, Hyndford Road, Ladyacre Road, St Vincent Place, Bannatyne Street, High Street and vice versa.

A70 near Redford Bridge closed between the junctions of C203 Calla Road and C37 from Sunday 19 May for up to 3 days for carriageway surface dressing. Diversion via A70, B7008, A71, A704, A706, A721 and A70.

Larkhall

Wilkie Crescent is closed between Hareleeshill Road and 2 Wilkie Crescent from Monday 22 April to Tuesday 30 April for Scottish Water sewer repairs.

Duke Street (northbound side only) is closed between A72 Lanark Road and the roundabout at Queen Mary Drive from 9.30am Thursday 2 May to 3.30pm Friday 3 May for essential junction improvement works. Please note access from A72 to Larkhall will remain open. Diversion via Duke Street, Wellgate Street, London Street, Hamilton Road, B7078 Carlisle Road and A72 Lanark Road.

Drygate Street closed between Muir Street and Station Road from Monday 20 May to Friday 24 May for carriageway resurfacing. Diversion via Muir Street, Percy Street, Montgomery Street and Drygate Street.

Drygate Street closed between Wellgate Street and Station Road from Tuesday 28 May to Friday 31 May for carriageway resurfacing. Diversion via Drygate Street, Muir Street, Percy Street and Wellgate Street.

Lesmahagow

Priory Avenue is closed between Priory Road and Eastwood Drive from 9.30am to 6pm on Thursday 2 May for Scottish Water works. Diversion via Priory Avenue, South View, B7078 Carlisle Road, Balgray Road and Abbeygreen Road.

Kirkconnel Drive is closed between Dunure Drive and Alloway Crescent from 6am Tuesday 30 April to 6pm on Friday 3 May for Scottish Water maintenance work. Diversion via Dunure Drive, Turnberry Drive, Alloway Drive, Alloway Crescent and vice versa.

Alloway Crescent is closed between Kirconnel Drive and 33 Alloway Crescent from 6am Tuesday 30 April to 6pm on Friday 3 May for Scottish Water maintenance work. Diversion via Dunure Drive, Turnberry Drive, Alloway Drive, Alloway Crescent and vice versa.

Dunbar Avenue is closed both sides between 16 and 30 Dunbar Avenue for Scottish Water ironworks replacement from 9.30am to 6pm on Wednesday 15 May.

Main Street is closed between Mill Street and Stonelaw Road from 6am to 10pm Saturday 8 June for Landemer Day. Diversion via Stonelaw Road, Rodger Drive, Mill Street and vice versa.

Sandford

Waterside closed between Stonehouse Road and number 3 Waterside on Monday 20 May for installation of Scottish Power apparatus.

Stonehouse

Lockhart Street closed between A71 Ayr Road and Candermill Road from Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May for Scottish Power cable works. Diversion via Stonehouse bypass, Strathaven Road, Townhead Street, King Street, New Street and Lockhart Street. Local access will be maintained to Woodlands View from A71 Ayr Road.

Sandford Road is closed between A71 Strathaven Road and Fairy Burn Bridge on Monday 29 April for patching works. Diversion via A71 Strathaven Road, A71 Stonehouse Road, B7086 Lesmahagow Road, Stonehouse Road, Sandford and Sandford Road.

Lockhart Street closed between Candermill Road and Woodlands View from 7am on Friday 24 May to 11.59pm on Friday 31 May to allow Scottish Power cable upgrade works.

Lochart Place to Candermill Road closed between A71 Strathaven Road and Fairy Burn Bridge on Tuesday 28 May for carriageway surfacing. Diversion via A71 Strathaven Road, A71 Stonehouse Road, B7086 Lesmahagow Road, Stonehouse Road, Sandford and Sandford Road.

Sutherland Avenue is closed between Strathaven Road (service road) and Marleyhill Avenue from 8am on Saturday 1 June until 3am on Sunday 2 June to allow a street party to be held as part of the gala day.

Camnethan Street closed at the junction of Lockhart Place from 7am on Monday 3 June to 11.59pm on Friday 7 June for Scottish Power upgrade. Diversion via Candermill Road, Lockhart Street, New Street, Boghall Street, Camnethan Street and Angle Street and The Cross.

Strathaven

Marchmont Gardens and Failford Road is closed from Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May for resurfacing works. There is no alternative route.

Glasgow Road is closed between Brook Street and Woodhill Road from 9.30am to 6pm on Friday 12 May for Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via A723 to Hamilton, A72/A724 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/Kingsway, A726 to Strathaven and vice versa.

C138 Hairshaw Highway is closed between Browncastle Highway and Hairshaw Highway 2 from Wednesday 15 May to Thursday 16 May for repairs. Diversion via Browncastle Highway, High Brownside and Caldergreen Highway, A71 Darvel Road C136 Drumclog Highway and vice versa.

Strathaven Gala Day: The following roads are closed between 8am and 3pm on Saturday 8 June. A71 Kirk Street, Ryeland Street, A723 Townhead Street, A723 Green Street, A723 Barn Street, A726 Glasgow Road, Park Crescent, Reed Street, Common Green, Lethame Road, Threestanes Road and Kirklandpark Road. Diversion routes will be directed by Police Scotland.

Thortonhall

Emergency road closure: Holehouse Highway is closed between Hole of Dripps Farm and Holehouse Sewage Works from Wednesday 31 January to Monday 10 March 2025 due to structural damage to the ford. Diversion via Peel Road, B764 Eaglesham Road, B764 Cheapside Street, Gilmour Street, Holehouse Road and vice versa.

Braehead Road closed between Wellknowe Road and Thornton Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday 14 May for overhead cable works. Diversion via Wellknowe Road, Wellknowe Place, Park Drive, Thornton Road and vice versa.
