Superintendent Andrew Thomson

Superintendent Andrew Thomson joined Strathclyde Police and spent his formative policing years in Glasgow as a Response Officer in Easterhouse and Shettleston.

Andrew moved to South Lanarkshire on promotion and served in the Hamilton locality as the Community Sergeant for Larkhall, Blantyre, Bothwell and Uddingston.  As an Inspector and Chief Inspector, Andrew worked in Motherwell and held a wide portfolio of pan-Lanarkshire responsibilities ranging from Community Justice to Counter Terrorism.

In early 2018, Andrew was posted to Police Scotland Headquarters where he was the Staff Officer to Chief Constable Sir Iain Livingstone through a challenging period that included the global health pandemic and COP26.  He returned to Lanarkshire and assumed his current role as the Partnerships Superintendent on 29 November 2021.
