Councillor Joe Fagan is Leader of South Lanarkshire Council.  A lifelong East Kilbride resident, he has represented East Kilbride Central North (Ward 8) since 2017.  He graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2009 and has worked in various research roles for members of the Scottish and UK parliaments.  He is a founding member of East Kilbride Fairtrade Group and is a former member of the Scottish Executive Committee of the Labour Party. His policy priorities are economic development, transport and the council workforce.
