The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) training webinar provides an awareness raising/training webinar for staff across South Lanarkshire’s public sector that covers the requirements contained in the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024.  It builds on the good practice of our young people leading a children’s services conference in November 2023 where they delivered a keynote input via a filmed presentation on children’s rights and the UNCRC.

The young people present an exciting and entertaining webinar that is accessible to staff across the public and voluntary sector in South Lanarkshire.  It presents the main parts of the Act in a fun and informative way, incorporating a cameo appearance from South Lanarkshire Council’s Chief Executive Paul Manning.

The webinar contributes substantially to commitments made in the 2023-26 Children’s Services Plan, regarding further embedding a children’s rights-based culture and practice across our public sector.

The webinar is now available and staff and volunteers from organisations out with the council can access the training at UN Convention on the Rights of the Child for partner agency staff.
